What’s New in Solumina i090?

The Solumina i090 release delivers a range of new features and improvements across the MES, SQM, and MRO areas of Solumina. These enhancements are designed to drive efficiency in your production and sustainment processes, improve ease-of-use, support communication with your suppliers, and more.

Key enhancements of Solumina i090 include:

  • New Look and Feel – In alignment with iBase-t’s new brand launch, the Solumina user interface has been updated with our new brand colors and logos. We’re excited to share our fresh new look with you!
  • Update Supplier Feedback in Discrepancy Items (SQM) – Suppliers can now provide feedback in SQM on discrepancies created for MES or MRO orders. This allows suppliers to respond and add context to the issue assigned to them without rejecting the discrepancy or changing any data in the discrepancy item. Offering your suppliers a channel for feedback helps support more effective communication and collaboration around quality.
  • Split Inspection Orders (MES, SQM) – Both Receiving Inspectors and Source Inspectors can now split inspection orders and manage them separately, driving efficiency. When an inspection order is split, the sample size of the remaining inspection items is automatically adjusted based on the new order quantity. The ability to split inspection orders is privilege-controlled, so you can choose whether to allow a supplier to use it.
  • Manage Raw Materials within Solumina (MES) – The raw materials part subtype in Solumina MES has been updated with fields for raw material attributes – including material type, required length, required width, and more – making it easier to manage raw materials within Solumina. The material title is generated by concatenating the raw material attributes, so you can search by attribute to quickly retrieve a raw material part for an mBOM or process plan. Parts can also be added from the Parts Library using the same search functionality to find the raw material and embed it in the work instructions.

If Solumina is the Authoritative Data Source (ADS) of Part Masters, the raw material attribute data can be added within Solumina and then transferred to external systems via Part Sync integration. If the ADS is an external system, Solumina can receive raw material attributes from the ADS system via Part Sync integration and populate the table within the raw material record, enabling search.
  • Cancel / Un-Cancel Work Orders in Solumina (MES & MRO) – When circumstances change, you need a solution that lets you pivot quickly. Now, you can easily cancel active work orders – or restore cancelled work orders – in Solumina with just a few clicks. Cancellation/un-cancellation can be initiated directly from Solumina, or from an integrated ERP prompting Solumina to take action. This enhancement reduces the time and effort required to cancel or un-cancel an order, driving efficiency on the shop floor.
  • Many more new capabilities, performance enhancements, and fixes

Company refreshes brand, reinforcing commitment to customer success and partnering to achieve manufacturing cloud transformation

Lake Forest, California, May 16, 2023 – iBase-t, the company that helps its customers simplify how complex products are built and maintained, announced the completion of a successful fiscal year 2023, as the company saw another year of record revenue and profitability.

Fiscal 2023 revenue increased 38% over the prior year. License bookings grew 20% year-over-year with annual subscription revenue up 7x over the prior year as the company accelerates its shift to a cloud-native digital ecosystem SaaS solution provider. Concurrently, iBase-t also unveiled a companywide rebrand delivering a new look and feel designed to better represent the company’s modern solutions for discrete manufacturing.

iBase-t continues to step up investments in its flagship Solumina iSeries, the industry’s first microservices-based, cloud-native manufacturing platform as a core driver of growth, while also striking a host of new strategic partnerships.

“I am very proud of the solid execution by our team in achieving strong growth over the last fiscal year,” said Naveen Poonian, CEO, iBase-t. “We made significant progress accelerating the capabilities of our solutions to meet the specific needs and challenges of our customers, enabling them to manage complex operations with greater ease, efficiency, and quality in any environment. The strategy we have set and our continued investments in the product and business continues to drive strong financial performance.”

Product Innovation

iBase-t’s Solumina iSeries underwent several key updates culminating with its most recent version, i090. These updates solve specific user limitations and improve functions at multiple stages in the manufacturing process, including improved flow of data between the supplier and the manufacturer, enhanced user capabilities to split inspection orders, and helping to improve sustainability through reduced waste, improved efficiency, and decreased carbon footprint.

Following these product advancements and the company’s ability to execute, iBase-t was also selected by IDC as a Leader in “MES for Engineering Intensive Manufacturing” for its innovative offerings. In addition, iBase-t’s Solumina iSeries successfully completed its Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 certification. Completion of the SOC 2 Type 2 audit certifies the highest level of security and data protection standards for iBase-t’s customers.

Rebrand

With a new color scheme, modern design, and phonetic spelling, iBase-t better represents the forward looking and innovative solution the company delivers. Learn more about the iBase-t Rebrand.

“iBase-t has evolved and grown in delivering our leading-edge solutions since our founding in 1986,” said Tom Hennessey, CMO, iBase-t. “Our rebrand is reflective of the changes our company has made in recent years and delivers a fresh and modern feel while maintaining and respecting the reputation and heritage the company has developed over the last several decades.”

Partner Engagement

In the past fiscal year, iBase-t expanded its Partner Ecosystem welcoming several new partnerships to drive digital transformation in manufacturing, spark innovation in cutting edge research, and to give back to the Aerospace and Defense community. This expands previously announced ecosystem members including Accenture, ATS, AWS, Cyient, DXC, HCL, Microsoft, and PTC.

Most recently iBase-t announced a strategic alliance with eQ Technologies to create and offer a Closed Loop Manufacturing (CLM) solution connecting iBase-t’s Solumina MES with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The partnership is aimed at enabling manufacturing companies to accelerate digital transformation by establishing a digital thread across PLM, MES, ERP systems.

Time to Change

Let’s admit it. We know we’re one of the best-kept secrets in complex discrete manufacturing. In fact, we went out and measured it; asking the industry, “What solution is available to address the chaos associated with building and maintaining the most complex assets in the world?”

We found that many of you didn’t know such a solution even existed. Let alone that it’s built and delivered today by iBase-t.

Complex engineering-intensive manufacturing is a large industry, but it is also a relatively small world of people with the knowledge and expertise to make it happen. We heard you, our customer, when you said; “When it comes to information technology in manufacturing, they are on the leading edge. They are beating out everyone. But they’re the industry’s best-kept secret.”

Time to Act

Our business has impressively grown and evolved over the last few years. Customers depend on iBase-t’s industry expertise to not only navigate – but to thrive in – a critically complex age of manufacturing.

While we’ve continued to use the same brand look for years – we have seen our business succeed because of the knowledge, experience, and intelligence our people bring. This re-brand is a celebration of the success we are seeing every day when our customers use Solumina to guide their operations through the chaos of today’s manufacturing.

As a business, it’s important that our brand accurately represents who we are today, while also signaling where we’re heading. We’ve built a reputation by consistently leading the charge in complex digital operations.

What’s changed? The way we communicate our name for one. iBase-t. No more mispronunciation. Phonetically, we’ve structured our name to align with its meaning: Intelligence-Based Technology.

Next, the logo and our color palette. Previously, our visual language heavily featured red and yellow, two primary colors that are sometimes associated with a negative connotation. Now combined to present as orange; orange reflects a progressive, sophisticated, modern application of who we are. And to support the vibrant brand we are, we’re embracing a supporting color palette and photography that makes our brand name stand out.

But that’s not all. We also heard many of you relate the confusion between Solumina and iBase-t. Which is the technology platform? Which is the company name?  Here, we’re evolving on three fronts:

  1. A new and improved word mark for our product Solumina. Matching into the look and feel of our corporate brand – the product branding is tied to iBase-t.
  2. A new product User Experience that embraces our new look. Finally, Solumina will also have its rightful place in the communication and campaigning of what brings success to our customers.
  3. A strong wordmark and supporting marketing tied to the success our customers’ experience using Solumina.

Time to Claim Success

Finally, we’re refining and improving the message of who we are. We are owning the success we provide the world’s leading complex discrete manufactures. For the last 30 years, the people of iBase-t have delivered the technology needed to guide, track, manage, launch and sustain products powerful enough to define the world’s future. Our customers are the dreamers of what comes next, and iBase-t makes those dreams become reality.

Because through it all, one constant remains: expertise leads the way. iBase-t has developed the technology that identifies and augments the path ahead, but we’re more than a platform – we are a people. As one, we work hand in hand with our partners and customers to embark on successful builds that enable critical projects all over the world. Whether it’s getting boots on the ground, devices to hospitals, or spacecraft into orbit; we deliver today to determine tomorrow.

We are iBase-t. Complex Made Simple.
