The Past, Present, and Future of Complex Manufacturing and Manufacturing Intelligence

Speaker: Slavko Jovanovic

Ten years ago, manufacturing was about brute force, and it was something that could be outsourced. Today’s manufacturing is more complex, involving composites, refrigeration, material tracking, perishable materials, the need to integrate autonomous systems, and more.

The future will bring even more complexity, not necessarily in the type of manufacturing but in the integration of the products. This complexity will require manufacturers to be more flexible and more dynamic, and it will require a deeper understanding of processes and process capabilities—so that when an engineer comes up with the next big idea, it can be translated to something that can be built on the shop floor.

At the end of the day, in order to compete in today’s digital manufacturing revolution, companies must find a solution to integrate all interfaces into one digital thread. Download our eBook to learn how Solumina can make this a reality.
