Labor Waste on the Shop Floor

Speaker: Becky Kelderman

The number one driver of labor waste on the shop floor is direct labor waste. In paper environments, we experience many occurrences on a day-to-day basis of stopping work on the shop floor largely to look for pieces of paper. When the shop floor is waiting on changes, waiting to contact someone, looking for paper that has ultimately been lost or misplaced, we spend time not working on the product that we should be building but spending time looking for paper on the shop floor. Hands down, the number one labor waste driver is direct labor not actually working on the shop floor.

Solumina will help in reducing labor waste on the shop floor by turning your paper into an electronic system. Gone are the days of having to search for paper. Gone are the days of having to pick up the phone and call somebody and wait for a response. When you have everything in an electronic, configurable, real-time system, all downtime that is currently spent looking for paper will be eliminated using the electronic Solumina system.

At the end of the day, in order to compete in today’s digital manufacturing revolution, companies must find a solution to integrate all interfaces into one digital thread. Download our eBook to learn how Solumina can make this a reality.
