Foothill Ranch, Calif. March 8, 2006 – iBASEt today announced that it has completed “Powered by SAP NetWeaver®” certification for the integration of Solumina G5 with SAP® R/3® Enterprise Release 4.7 via SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI)-based content. The certified SAP NetWeaver XI-based integration uses OAGi XML Standards for discrete manufacturing collaborative business processes and integrates via the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal.
“iBASEt is consistently recognized as the leading Operations Process Management solution for complex, discrete manufacturers,” commented Conrad Leiva, VP Product Marketing and Alliances at iBASEt. “In order to accelerate the deployment of our paperless shop floor solution, we are adding more off-the-shelf standard interfaces to ERP and PLM systems. We see this certification as an important milestone on our work toward establishing robust A2A and B2B integration standards in the discrete manufacturing arena using the Open Applications Group OAGIS standards for business software interoperability. We are actively promoting the adoption of standards among vendors and customers to achieve the desired real-time interoperability between the shop floor and other critical business applications.”
In addition, iBASEt has attained “Powered by SAP NetWeaver, Interoperability Certification.” The designation is awarded to partners certified for using SAP NetWeaver XI to build content packages based on industry standards that properly connect to the mySAP™ ERP solution and other SAP software applications.
“Today’s companies are faced with many challenges, including dynamic market conditions and a need for real-time information for decision making,” said Greg Gorbach, vice president, ARC Advisory Group. “Interoperability based on industry standards is a key step in achieving the flexibility needed to survive and actually grow market share in the emerging collaborative marketplace. iBASEt is leveraging the roadmap established by the Interoperability project for discrete manufacturing and SAP’s roadmap for collaboration using industry standards. This is further evidence of the growing interest and support for standards-based interoperability.”
To further achieve its objective of an integrated ecosystem, SAP introduced the Powered by SAP NetWeaver, Interoperability Certification, that requires partners to not only meet the basic requirements of Powered by SAP NetWeaver certification, but to select a business scenario defined by industry standards to build for certification. Standards such as OAGIS, ISA-S95, CIDX and RosettaNet define business processes and are being used to streamline collaboration across and between industry ecosystems.
Frank Heinrich, iBASEt CTO added, “We believe these standards will pave the way to future SOA web services compatible with SAP’s Enterprise Services Architecture. However, the success of an SOA strategy will depend on consensus in each industry of standard business service scenarios and transactions. We continue to extend an invitation to manufacturers and software vendors to join the OAGI workgroups which are developing and promoting these standards.”
