iBASEt Deploys Its Web-based Strategic Supplier Quality System at Sikorsky Aircraft

Foothill Ranch, CA – March 30th, 2005Sikorsky Aircraft is deploying a revolutionary new web-based Strategic Supplier Quality System to gather and analyze key characteristic attributes throughout its supply chain. Solumina’s new Statistical Supplier Quality Module allows Sikorsky to monitor its suppliers’ ability to meet Sikorsky’s strict quality standards using internet-based tools. As supplier component quality increases, Solumina can automatically notify a supplier of a relaxation of Sikorsky’s requirements for inspection frequency, sample sizes and audits. Conversely, Solumina will notify a supplier of tightened inspections and oversight as defects are found either at the supplier location or downstream, during the manufacturing process. The entire quality traceability chain is maintained within Solumina’s quality and paperless execution system. Only products that meet Sikorsky’s strict quality requirements are authorized to ship.
